About us

Our promise to our customers is simple.
Excellence in measurements and project data.

The availability of high quality data has always been the cornerstone of any energy project. Whether it is wind resource data for the purpose of project development, operational data used in the optimisation of existing power plant or power performance data used in the verification and acceptance testing of existing or newly installed individual turbines, the need for low cost, accurate and reliable measurements has never been more important.

We only use the best wind monitoring sensors and we supply robust methanol fuel cell based modular remote power supplies, designed and proven to operate in the harshest of environments, all to ensure maximum data availability. Our focus is always ensuring that projects have the data necessary to succeed.

We provide wind data as a service onshore, offshore and from wind turbines anywhere in the world, for wind energy and meteorological applications.

At ZX Measurement Services, our primary focus is the acquisition of the highest quality data with the lowest measurement uncertainty. Our team has over 70 years combined experience in the design, installation and management of measurement systems, ensuring all measurement campaigns are designed and delivered to exactly meet our customers needs whilst optimising new and existing technologies to provide comprehensive data sets.

Combining ZX Lidars’ position as industry leaders in the development and supply of Lidars globally with our experience in the design, application and management of turnkey measurement campaigns offers the unique opportunity for Project Developers, Asset Managers and Owner / Operators to maximise data quality and availability whilst minimising measurement uncertainty and cost.

lidar field services base

The home of Lidar equipment rentals

We support all leading Lidar and Sodar equipment manufacturers including ZX Lidars, Vaisala (Leosphere) and AQSystems

Based near Glasgow, UK our Lidar Field Services Base operates the largest fleet of Remote Sensing Devices in the world. We design and execute measurement campaigns using our own Lidar fleet or our customers fleets of Remote Sensing Devices. We train, support and solve problems for customers.

We have a fleet of new Lidars available for long or short term rental campaigns and our rental rates are quite simply the most affordable yet most valuable in the industry.

Our background and experience in project development and operation ensures we never lose sight of these key project imperatives. At ZX Measurement Services, we have an underlying and fundamental understanding of the requirements for site measurements and the provision of project data.

We partner with our Trusted Service Providers to provide additional worldwide Lidar services to local resource assessment projects where necessary.

“We are now considering wind turbines up to 6MW onshore in Italy and met masts do not allow us to assess the wind conditions at anywhere near to a useful height. Instead we have worked successfully ... to deploy this excellent ZX 300 wind Lidar that is more mobile, cost-effective and practical for providing vital wind measurements across the full height of the eventual wind turbine.”

GreenGo

"The ZX 300 wind Lidars supplied by ZX Lidars are being used as both a sole wind measurement sensor but also to enhance met mast installations. Lidars provide great coverage at a range of measurement heights, combined with their leading accuracy at these remote, often complex sites.”

RES

"We tilt towards Lidar for our monitoring fleet due to the ability to measure wind resource accurately in complex terrain conditions.”

Tilt Renewables

Across a broad range of cases previously published by ZX Lidars and Meteodyn incorporating 13 different wind project locations, data presented confirmed that CFD conversion of ZX 300 data in non-homogeneous flow conditions produced excellent agreement with collocated anemometry. As a result of this and other industry bodies of evidence, leading wind engineering organisations, and ZX Lidars, consider the data can be considered as finance-grade in situation.

CFARS

"The [ZX Lidars] are easily mobilised from site to site in trailers and provide an instant view of the wind across and above the ranges we lift components at. RPM see Lidars as a key way of promoting Safety First within wind farm construction.”
